Something to Crow About!

Just a quick note to say that letters published on this blog from the 84th Illinois Infantry regiment that described their actions at the battle of Stone’s River has been accepted by the National Park Service, and is now available online through their regimental research files, found here: http://www.nps.gov/stri/historyculture/regfillinois.htm.   It’s good to know that this project is generating new information for the NPS and the researchers who access their files.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.  Don’t forget, the news is fresh tomorrow!

Hey! I found the website! Very interesting reading! Want to thank you for the informational visit today out in Sommer Park at Peoria. It is always fun to talk to someone who knows about the Civil War, especially my G-G-Grandfathers Regiment. Thanks!

    1. Helen, it was a pleasure to speak with you again. I hope you enjoyed the living history event, and that you find useful information here on the blog.
